Peer to Peer Support Network for Female Aerial Leaders

We’ve just finished up on ‘Etre et Durer’ (a translation of ‘to be and to last’ borrowed from parkour which sounds so much better than the English translation) and was born of a desire to create a peer to peer support network for female aerial leaders and artistic directors.

Why? Touring Summer 2022

We’re gearing up to tour ‘Why?’ again this year. The rehearsal space is booked, we’re doing checks on all of the kit, checking we can still fit into the costumes haha …! And just to say thanks again to all the wonderful audiences who came out to see us last year, we really loved chatting with you after the shows and to the festival directors and teams who pulled out all the stops to ensure that shows went ahead this year, to the funders and supporting organisations and a personal thanks from me (Lindsey) to the wonderful, hard working, G&L team of collaborators, movers and shakers. Looking forward to doing it all again soon!!!

We’ve gone and changed the dates again – darn that Covid!  Dissecting Aerial 2021 has been moved to Jan 15th & 16th 2022.
Our aim is to live stream the symposium this year, with some live speakers, events and audience here in Brighton, connecting to International hubs of watching and presentations ……

A Heightened Sense of Tree R&D 2020

In this strange old year that was 2020, we were immensely grateful to be able to spend 10 days in Whirligig Woods with a phenomenal creative team to research our new show, ‘A Heightened Sense of Tree’.

This R&D has been a long time in the planning even prior to Covid. It’s been in discussion with the National Trust for over 2 years and in conversation between it’s main collaborators since Lindsey returned from working with Julia Taffe (Aeriosa) in Vancouver 2015.

Why? at GDIF 2020

What an absolute joy and privilege it was to be able to perform ‘Why’ live at Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, for Without Walls. Read more to view the short film we made at #DancingCity GDIF in 2020.

EADF 2022 Date Announcement

Sadly and yet almost inevitably given the year 2020 was, we’re postponing the next EADF until Aug 2022. Given the ongoing uncertainty about gathering in numbers, coupled with the fact that our partners South East Dance and Brighton Dome/Festival also had to stop work on creating their wonderful new buildings it’s simply not viable to run the festival in 2021. Wow, so that was our 10th edition of the EADF 2019 and what a way to celebrate 10 years! What an amazing journey it’s been starting from just a 4 day event back in 2010 to a full 2 week programme.

Vertical Dance Forum 2019 – Alternative Perspectives & Accessible Aerial
